Fire Damage – Vancouver Garage
Fire damage at this Vancouver home’s garage left the flat garage ceiling charred. The fire was extinguished very quickly by the homeowner limiting the majority of the damage to the supports and beams of the roof. SERVPRO of E. Vancouver / Clark Co. would employ a process known as ice blasting to clean up the smoke damage from the charred wood. This process uses dry ice pellets to rasp the charred wood surface leaving the bare and clean wood surface exposed. This is a very clean process leaving the ice pellets vaporized into the air. There is no water used in the process, so there is no water to clean up. After the ice blasting our team would set up air scrubbers to treat the lingering odor from the fire. This process is popular because it is less costly and less time-consuming.
